About us:
Mamre Oaks Ltd is a Day Activity Centre, a non-profit organization and a member organisation of Caritas Singapore. Founded by a group of friends who believe that persons with intellectual disabilities, the weakest in society, are gifts from God with their rights to a fulfilling life like anyone else.
Mamre Oaks aims to empower the persons with intellectual disabilities to lead lives of meaning, dignity and fulfilment, to provide and create an environment where the persons with intellectual disabilities are welcomed, respected and valued regardless of their difference abilities.
Being an integral part of the Catholic Church, Mamre Oaks will carry out its businesses according to the Church's Catholic Social Teachings. We are founded on Catholic soil and we warmly welcome all regardless of their race and religion.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Volunteer with us as a befriender to our members (clients) and journey with them, by assisting our staff to engage them in the different activities and programmes on a weekly basis. Our Centre opens Mondays to Fridays, excluding public holidays.
Requirements:
Volunteers with time (preferably one day a week, from 9 am to 3.30 pm) and a heart and passion to befriend adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
