Ms Jacinta Rajoo, Committee Member of the Catholic AIDS Response Effort (CARE), joined the organisation in 2004. She was drawn to serve in a ministry that cared for those who were afflicted by HIV and also suffered stigma and discrimination from society.

Jacinta served two terms as President of CARE and has held several other roles within the executive committee to present day. She has seen the organization grow from a registered society under Catholic Welfare Services to one that achieved IPC status and is part of the CARITAS family of social service organisations.

In addition to serving at CARE, Jacinta is a catechist in her parish. Believing that serving God also means moving beyond the comforts of Singapore, she serves as Mission Leader, heading the mission to TAOM, Cambodia that is part of the A Call To Share (ACTS) missions.

Beyond his architectural work, Michael is actively involved in several organisations. He serves as a director of the Catholic Architectural Guild, holds the position of vice-chair at Archdiocesan Land and Properties Singapore, and is a member of the Care for Creation committee at Caritas. Michael’s belief in integrating profession and faith drives his search for individual vocations.

Currently, he is working on a design guide inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si'. The project aims to convey the document’s message to stakeholders in the construction industry.

Dr Maxine A.D. Mowe

Dr. Maxine A. D. Mowe is a biology lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in the Department of Biological Sciences. With over 10 years of research experience in aquatic ecology, she has been teaching various biology and ecology courses for undergraduate students, including General Biology, Evolutionary Biology, Freshwater Biology, and Plankton Ecology. Additionally, she instructs several courses for MSc and PhD students, covering topics such as Freshwater Conservation, Food Security and Sustainability, and Internships.

Dr. Mowe actively contributes to the Care for Creation Committee (C4C) at Caritas Singapore since January 1, 2023. Collaborating with the committee, she has organized several Laudato Si’ activities for parishes and the Archdiocese, including beach clean-ups and tree planting. Recently, she participated in the IV Congress on the Care of Creation in Lisbon on August 31st.

Ms Caroline Seow is a member of the St Ignatius Green Movement, a ministry which seeks to raise awareness of Laudato Si’ and the need to take urgent action on the climate crisis. An advocate for social justice, she is also the Chair of Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Singapore, a volunteer led organisation that accompanies, serves and advocates for refugees and all forcibly displaced. JRS operates in conflict zones, remote borders, and urban cities across 57 countries. JRS Singapore is focused on developing professional skills and providing livelihood opportunities for refugees and asylum seekers in our region.

Caroline is also co-founder of B Lab Singapore, the non-profit advancing stakeholder capitalism, and empowering businesses to use the power of entrepreneurship to benefit all people, communities and the planet.
