Welfare assistance should respect subsidiarity principle

While the government must help persons who are in need, the way assistance is given matters. Persons being helped must be given some autonomy to make decisions, and the government should not intervene excessively in social life. Otherwise, persons being helped will not be able to develop and the costs of welfare assistance will also become unjustly enormous.
