Charities Week 2024 Parish Breakdown

CW2024 Parish Breakdown

On behalf of Caritas Singapore, I would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your support of Charities Week 2024.

In the face of the myriad challenges gripping our world—hunger, suffering, climate change, war, and more—it is no surprise that uncertainty and fear weigh heavy on many hearts.

Yet, the Catholic community came together in solidarity with marginalised communities and raised $7,575,409 through Charities Week 2024, which is an overwhelming response to our appeal to walk with those in need.

Having witnessed this remarkable display of generosity, we feel profoundly blessed to be a part of this powerful manifestation of God’s love. These donations will fund 68 programmes run by members of Caritas Singapore Family. In addition to established programmes, Caritas Singapore will be working closely with member organisations to broaden their impact and support innovative new initiatives.

Morning Star Community Services’ EXSEL® Programme is one such new initiative. Through interactive workshops, this project aims to foster essential Social Emotional Learning skills among children from lower-income families.

Canossaville Children & Community Services is also launching a new half-day programme called Saturdays@Canossaville. Through this programme, children from the Canossian Village who face lapses in appropriate care on Saturdays, are offered access and opportunities to learn new skills and develop abilities outside of the classroom

Furthermore, your support will also fund parish efforts to provide for the poor and needy in the community. These include food vouchers or rations for the poor, financial assistance to individuals or families in crisis, and aid programmes for migrant workers.

As always, we continue to seek to better fundraise and therefore support the Caritas Singapore Family. We are eager to hear feedback or suggestions from the community that may help improve future iterations of Charities Week. Please share your thoughts with us at www.bit.ly/cw2024feedback. We greatly value your input and will take every suggestion into careful consideration so that, together, we can build a better, more caring, and inclusive future for marginalised communities.

Once again, thank you for your kind and unwavering support. We pray that God’s love continues to guide and inspire you.

In Christ,
